• Champagne using decoupage technique with your own hands. Champagne decoupage for the new year. The basic way to design a New Year's drink

    12.11.2019

    New Year is associated with a fairy tale. It's not difficult to create a miracle from an ordinary bottle, and with a minimal budget.

    A few words about decoupage

    Decoupage is an applique made of pictures, made according to a certain technology, using paints, glue and varnish. He took a worthy place in the "piggy bank" of interior design ideas.

    This activity delights both adults and children, it can become a lifelong hobby. With the help of a simple execution technique, it is possible to create exquisite things and unique gifts for loved ones and loved ones.

    In our case, the subject of design will be a New Year's bottle. Holding this work of art in my hands (I'm not afraid of this word), it's hard to believe that recently it was a nondescript piece of glass. A little imagination, a little patience, plus hard work and new year's masterpiece in your hands.

    Historical facts

    Decoupage, or the technique of implanting paper drawings into objects, has a rich and interesting history, dating back to around the 17th century.

    Even in ancient China, people learned to create beautiful dishes by applying pictures from rice paper to it. Such work was considered difficult and expensive.

    France became the trendsetter in decoupage fashion. World famous ladies, the favorite of Louis XV Madame de Pompadour and Queen Marie Antoinette, whiled away the evenings with this activity.

    The royal hobby was picked up by the inhabitants of foggy Albion, and after them, the love of decoupage technique swept the United States. In Russia, this fashionable trend became known much later, only at the beginning of the 21st century.

    Choosing picture stickers

    First, let's think about choosing pictures for future design. Since our theme is dedicated to the New Year and Christmas, we also select images in a playful and winter theme.

    Most of all, I like calm winter landscapes, as well as red-breasted bullfinches and funny snowmen, cheerful Santa Claus or a fluffy Christmas tree. All this will perfectly fit into the festive atmosphere.

    "Where can I get pictures?" - you ask. Professional decoupage napkins are sold in specialized stores or can be ordered online. Frankly, I often find successful options on the shelves of hypermarkets and buy them for good.

    Napkins should have two or three layers, single-layer napkins are not suitable for decoupage.

    In the decoupage technique, in addition to napkins, you can use other materials: rice paper, clippings from newspapers and magazines. Too thick paper will have to be slightly soaked and the excess layer removed, and it is advisable not to take glossy pictures into work.

    Rice paper is the most convenient to use, especially for beginners. It is more reliable than napkins, fits well on the surface and leaves almost no folds.

    How to make a picture on a printer

    Previously, I was saddened that I could not create a holiday bottle with an image I liked. It turns out that blending pictures are easy to make. For this photo, I download pictures from the Internet and print them on a color laser printer.

    Images printed on an inkjet printer when interacting with a humid environment, blurry and do not give a high-quality result.

    Then the paper will need to be thinned with tape. This is easy to do. The adhesive tape is glued to the back of the sheet and removed. Thus, I get a thin and almost transparent leaf, which I later use to blend the bottle.

    Materials at hand

    And so we have chosen a picture and a visual representation of the future masterpiece received. Time to think about the work materials and explore the main stages of work. You will need:

    • Means for degreasing glass surfaces. This can be acetone, white spirit, or nail polish remover.
    • Decoupage glue. I use regular PVA that I buy at a hardware store.
    • White acrylic paint. It can also be purchased from the building materials department. It will cost much less than professional decoupage acrylic.
    • A set of multi-colored acrylic paints in jars and transparent acrylic varnish. You can buy all this in the special section “Everything for needlework and decoupage”.
    • 2 brushes, 2-3 cm wide. I use one for working with glue and acrylic, and the second is needed for applying varnish.
    • A piece of foam rubber. A dish-washing sponge will do just fine.
    • Stationery scissors.
    • Hair dryer if you want to speed up the work process.
    • A bowl of water.
    • Small rubber trowel or roller.
    • A thin paint brush if you want to add artistic strokes.

    Choosing a bottle

    Finally, it's time to choose a bottle. It should be of the most common form (any wine or vodka will do). Let me remind you that we are doing decoupage of a New Year's bottle. And what is the symbol of the New Year? Of course champagne! I advise you to opt for it.

    You can arrange an empty container, but it is best if it comes with content. Place it on a festive table or under a Christmas tree. Present to your loved ones. Success will be guaranteed in any case.

    Bottle decoupage - step by step

    I am preparing a bottle for work. I put it in warm water so that the factory labels come off. I remove the remaining paper with a knife, wipe the glass dry and degrease it with acetone. And now the fun begins.

    Step 1. Prepared

    Apply a primer to a clean and degreased glass surface with a brush or foam rubber. As a primer, I use white acrylic paint diluted with PVA glue in a ratio of 2: 1. Apply the first coat and let it dry.

    For the color depth, apply the second and third layers. The number of coats depends on the quality of the primer... Dry the product with a hairdryer or dry it naturally. Thus, a perfectly white blank is obtained, which just asks to be decorated.

    Step 2. Selecting an image

    Here it is important to understand how the chosen picture or motive will fall on the bottle. Most likely, their preliminary "fitting" will be required. The pattern can be cut with scissors. I like the manual pull option better. Uneven, torn edges of the appliqué look more natural.

    The pattern can be cut with scissors or use the "hand-pull" option

    Choose small pictures for application, they are easier to glue.

    Step 3. We glue the picture

    Divide the napkin into layers, take the top one into work. We apply PVA glue to the workpiece and apply a prepared piece of napkin to it. Then gently smooth it out with a roller or brush. Remember that getting wet from the glue the napkin becomes fragile and can tear from awkward movement... The glue can also be applied over the applique. I use both options in practice.

    The fragment of paper napkin with the image should lie as flat as possible, not have folds and bubbles.

    Step 4. Finishing touches

    With a piece of foam rubber, with tangent movements, paint over the decoupled bottle. In this way, you can hide and smooth out the transitions of paper pictures to give the impression of the integrity of the picture. I like to paint elements of the image with gold or highlight them with brighter colors.

    Tap the paint brush over the surface of the bottle to decorate it with splashes.

    Decoupage of a bottle is original technique decoration that will decorate your table and become a memorable attribute of the holiday. You can decorate a bottle of champagne with napkins stylishly and brightly with your own hands - decoupage does not require any special skills or special tools.

    The bottle decoupage technology is also simple and accessible even for novice experimenters. Thanks to the bottle decorated with decoupage, your table will acquire a special sophistication and notes of festive luxury.

    The art of decoupage is based on the transfer of finished drawings to various objects and additional coverage of the resulting base. For the first time, the decoupage technique was applied during the Middle Ages, when various applications were applied to pieces of furniture. Venetian masters achieved particular success in this respect, creating unique works of art using drawings in the then fashionable Japanese and Chinese styles. Later, decoupage became a popular hobby in France, where objects decorated in this way were actively used at the royal court. In Russia, interest in decoupage began to appear only a few years ago, however, the technology has spread very quickly throughout the country.

    Today, decoupage certainly differs from the medieval one due to the development of a technical process. Decoupage of bottles with napkins is especially popular, which allows you to accurately apply images to any objects. However, in needlework, decoupage on fabric and from fabric with the use of computer technologies is actively practiced. Products with three-dimensional patterns and individual patterns created in graphic programs are incredibly effective.

    Do-it-yourself bottle decoupage: workplace, materials, tools

    In order to create decoupage bottles at home, you need to take care of a properly organized space and improvised tools in advance. In general, it should be noted that the decoupage technique requires a separately decorated corner where you can decorate without fear of damage to the surface. In addition, novice decorators will need a fairly extensive set of varnishes, brushes and palettes.

    Scissors of various sizes will be the main tool for decoupage a glass bottle. In order to neatly cut out even small applications, you should stock up on sharp nail scissors, and for large drawings you will need large cutting scissors. It is also necessary to have medium sized scissors to cut standard sized designs.

    A set of brushes will also be of great importance for the successful decoupage of a bottle. Typically, brushes for glue, blotting, paint, varnish and finishing materials are needed during such decoration. Each of these brushes should be made of natural fibers that are not subject to rapid wear, and have a different shape and thickness. For example, flat brushes with fine bristles should be used to apply glue and varnish, while brushes of various sizes are suitable for paint. Special attention should be paid to the choice of brushes for decoration - they should have curly and beveled cuts, with which you can perform even the most delicate work.

    In addition, among necessary tools sandpaper, scotch tape, all kinds of containers and palettes for mixing paints and other substances can enter. Sandpaper is ideal for sanding the finished surface of a bottle, but it is recommended that you select different sizes of paper. Only on a perfectly flat surface can you apply the drawing as accurately as possible. The ruler, disappearing markers and pencils, toothpicks, awl, cotton swabs, blotting sponges will also be indispensable tools. An excellent option for beginners, it will be the purchase of a ready-made decoupage set, which will allow you to carry out basic decorating techniques with a bottle.

    Popular decoupage styles

    Before decorating a bottle for the New Year, you should think about how it will fit into the surrounding interior and emphasize the beauty of your table. Today, there are several decoupage styles that are most popular among modern decorators. By choosing one of these styles, you can create a fashion accessory that is sure to brighten up your festive occasion.

    1. Shabby chic - These are vintage scuffs and a skillfully applied aging technique. Shabby-chic jewelry first gained popularity at the end of the last century, and today it has again entered the first lines of fashion charts. If you are planning a retro-style New Year's party, a bottle of champagne decorated in a shabby chic style will be a great accessory to create the mood of the evening.
    2. Provence - the epitome of French grace, reflected in pastel colors, faded patterns and cozy shapes. The main theme of the images is landscapes of the countryside, which will ideally fit into the festive celebration, sustained in the best traditions of French cuisine.
    3. Victorian style - an exquisite combination of classics and luxury that will emphasize your taste and create an elegant decor for your banquet. The color scheme for a bottle of champagne or wine in this style includes maroon, cream and green shades with gilding. Such a rich decor will be incredibly appropriate for a party in new Year.
    4. Simplicity Is a solution for those who make a choice in favor of a democratic and simple design. Decoupage in this style can be done with newspaper clippings, glossy magazine pages, and colored paper. Glass or plastic bottledecorated in this way is suitable for youth companies who value art-house and momentary solutions.

    However, the listed decoupage styles are not at all the only possible alternatives. So, for example, if you are planning a New Year's party with a specific theme, then you can think over the appropriate decor: ethno, military, Disney cartoons. In matters of choosing a pattern, colors and finishes, you can not limit yourself in anything - in this case, you can create truly original and bright decorations.

    Decoupage provides an almost unlimited choice of tools and technologies to create an unusual decor for your new Year's table... In addition to the above methods and styles, you can make your wildest fantasies come true using voluminous or smoky decoupage. Design ideas for decoupage bottles on a New Year's table or Christmas photo

    A bottle of sparkling wine is not bad in itself, but if you decorate it with your own hands, you get an exclusive present. The author always puts his soul into such things, and the result is pleasing to the eye. On New Year's Day, March 8, February 14, Birthday - decorated champagne will do for any occasion. In addition, such a bottle will decorate the festive table, and after the celebration it can be used as a vase for one flower.
    I propose to decorate champagne using technique, napkin technique. She is gaining popularity among needlewomen lately. As a basis for the composition, however, I will take not a napkin, but a cardboard label from natural apple marshmallow. In this article I will tell you in detail how to prepare such a picture for decoupage.

    It is very important that a good, expensive drink was purchased for a presentation of this kind, so that there is no contrast between the contents and the beauty of the container. I took Russian champagne worth about 300 rubles, with a characteristic notch in the upper third of the bottle. Before washing off the labels, I captured them in photographs.

    In order to prepare the surface for decoupage, you must first remove all "native" labels. Soak the bottle in water at room temperature for several hours, then use a sponge and brush to remove the label. The remaining glue is removed with cotton wool soaked in vegetable oil.
    The next step is degreasing. It is required to remove all residual oil so that the paint adheres well to the glass. You can clean the bottle with alcohol, a special degreaser, or a window and glass cleaner containing alcohol. Walk on the surface with cotton wool with the above means, blot with a dry towel.

    It is more convenient to apply paint to the bottle not with a brush, but with a piece of a sponge for washing dishes. For convenience, attach it to a plastic clothespin. Priming with not pure white paint, make the color matte: add yellow and black colors.

    Apply successively, with mandatory drying, two to three coats of acrylic primer or paint. Bubbles of paint that will appear on the surface need to be burst for a long time with a sponge.

    So, while the paint is drying, you can do the picture. Here she is.

    This is cardboard, and any cardboard is several layers of paper. The top layer is glossy, as if it has already been varnished, the drawing is applied to coated paper. The lower layers are darker and denser.
    Turn the picture over, gently pull on the edge of the peeled cardboard. So as shown in the photo.

    Be extremely careful not to damage the paint layer!
    The next step is to rub the surface of the cardboard with your finger dipped in clean water, as if rolling excess paper into small rolls.

    If you find that the cardboard can be delaminated again, do so.

    Try on the picture for the bottle. Indeed, it looks noble.

    The last stage of preparing the picture: put the drawing on white paper with the colorful side, moisten quite abundantly and cotton swab Or, use your finger to continue picking up excess paper (note that this is already white paper, not light brown paper). It is important not to overdo it here so that a hole does not form in the drawing.

    Attention! Do not try to remove the picture from the white paper until it is dry! If you can't wait to keep working, dry the image with a hairdryer.

    Finishing the surface and picture

    Now the dried layers of paint on the bottle need to be sanded with sandpaper. With external smoothness, small depressions will form anyway. They can either be left without filling, or a very thin layer of putty, literally 0.1 mm, can be applied on top (apply with a plastic card or even with your finger).

    Iron the picture from the inside with an iron (medium temperature).

    To glue the first and main motive, prepare PVA glue. It will need to be diluted with water 1: 1 (one part of glue and about the same amount of water), mix thoroughly.

    Spread the bottle in the place where the main plot will be located with PVA glue and water, capturing the periphery. To do this, put the champagne on its side on a towel, which you will not mind staining with liquid glue.

    Iron the picture thoroughly with a brush or fingers. Since this is not a napkin, it is problematic to damage the paint layer, especially since the cardboard was like varnish. By the way, when ironing with an iron, small cracks could form on the surface, this can be called the aging effect, which is often specially used by craftswomen.
    For the main motive, you need to select a suitable napkin in advance, then we will work with it using two techniques: decoupage with a file and direct decoupage. We will not paint the background with paint, it will be enough to take motifs that match the color. I chose a serving napkin with the image of Paris: it has flower fragments, the Eiffel Tower, inscriptions (though for some reason on english language), the names of Parisian streets.
    I recommend that you treat the words carefully and tear them off the napkin so that you can easily read them on the bottle later. I have these words: "family, home, time" and others. You can also read phrases like “Having someone to love ia family” and “Having somewere to go is home”. Pleasant wordsthat can be addressed to the person for whom the gift is intended.
    So, we gradually tear the napkin into motives. Sometimes you need to look at the images for a very long time and think about where to attach this or that flower. Do not forget that when moistened, the napkin increases, the surfaces that will cover dry and damp paper differ. It is not necessary to separate all the motives at once. Some may get lost in the process, or suddenly it turns out that the drawing is too small.
    At first, the fragments will be quite large, closer to the end of the work, you will glue ever smaller motives or background elements, up to 2x2 mm.
    First, I took the floral motif, since such a beautiful lady, as in our main picture, must certainly be surrounded by flowers. I place the drawing face down on the file, moisten it with water and expel air bubbles from under the napkin with a soft brush.

    I carefully put the picture in the right place on the bottle. I shoot the file, the picture remains on the surface. And only now I coat the napkin with glue. Liquid glue permeates the motif and attaches it firmly to the bottle.

    In the same way, I glue other larger pieces of napkin. In the photo below you can see the intermediate result. Important! Before each next step, I dry the surface with a hairdryer, sometimes I need to touch up the napkin with a brush or hand, but this must be done very carefully.

    I arrange flowers around the girl.

    This is how I try on a dry napkin with a motive, decide where to stick it. In this case, this floral motif was in a completely different place.

    In the same way, I glue the whole bottle, turning it to me first one side, then the other. Sometimes it is more convenient to put it on the bottom, and sometimes to put it on a napkin. It happens that you need to level the surface with sandpaper or tint the background (if glue has spread), every time I use a hairdryer to dry. I glue small fragments of the napkin without a file, using the direct decoupage method. I coat the dry napkin on top with glue and gently smooth it with a brush.
    On the napkin, some flowers were not fully depicted. The color scheme of this work is as follows:
    • gray, brown - the colors of the background, inscriptions and the Eiffel Tower;
    • red is the color of a rose;
    • blue is the color of a carnation;
    • green is the color of the leaves.
    I place incomplete flowers at the bottom or top of the bottle so that there is a feeling that the whole flower is simply not visible.
    At the very end of the work, I decorate the cork with braid and a glue gun.

    3. Carefully cut out the circles. Use the resulting holes in the sheet of paper as a stencil: attach the circle to the surface of the bottle and use a foam brush to paint the background inside the circle with white acrylic paint, trying to apply more paints to the center, and less to the edge of the circle. Dry.

    4. Separate the top layer of paint from the cut motifs, then glue the motifs onto white circles of the appropriate sizes using a synthetic brush and decoupage glue. Dry the work.

    5. Paint the neck of the bottle with gold acrylic paint, and on the "shoulders" of the bottle, draw triangles of different lengths with the tip of a brush, and then paint over them with gold acrylic paint - so at the top of the bottle you will get a real Christmas star. Dry.

    6. Apply acrylic paint with glitters on the corners of the rays of the golden star and on the white background around the poinsettias.

    7. Decorate the outlines of triangles (star rays) and white circles (Christmas balls) with lines consisting of dots drawn with a gold acrylic outline.

    8. With the same contour draw the string-suspension for the balls and dry. The decoupage of the bottle with the decoration of Christmas stars is finished.

    Decoupage of a bottle of champagne with Santa Claus for the New Year 2018

    You will need:

    • Champagne bottle
    • Acrylic paints in blue and white
    • Three-layer paper napkin with a picture of Santa Claus
    • Adhesive varnish for decoupage with glitters (sequins)
    • Acrylic paint with gold glitters (sequins)
    • Pearlescent acrylic outline
    • Silver foil paper
    • Shaped hole punch "snowflake", scissors, foam brush, flat synthetic brush No. 8

    Lesson - 7 (Santa Claus)

    1. Keep the bottle surface clean and dry. Use a foam brush to paint the surface of the bottle blue and dry.
    2. Paint the part of the bottle on which the picture will be located with white acrylic paint, and in the center you need to apply the paint as tightly as possible, and closer to the edges - with a thin layer. 3. Cut the desired motif out of a paper napkin and peel off the top paint layer.

    You need very little glue to stick the napkin.

    4. Place the motif on the white painted part of the bottle and glue using decoupage glue and a flat synthetic brush. Dry.

    5. Apply acrylic paint with gold glitters to individual parts of the motif. Dry.

    6. Use a curly foil paper punch to cut out the snowflakes and stick them around the glued pattern on a white background.

    7. On a blue background, not occupied by the picture, with a pearlescent outline here and there, draw dots, stars or snowflakes. Dry.

For beginners, the process will seem impracticable, but this is only at first glance. The main condition is patience and a little imagination. The result is a masterpiece that is in no way inferior to antiques. This idea prompted home needlewomen to create gifts for the New Year from bottles with their own hands.

    New Year's bottle design options

    Since the preparation is going on for the New Year, then the technique should also have Christmas motives. The most popular material for work is paper napkins, three-layer, with new Year's drawings or photo. In addition to them, you will also need:

    • pVA glue, if there is no special one for decoupage;
    • acrylic paint (in this case white);
    • acrylic varnish, better transparent;
    • nail polish remover (always at hand);
    • cotton pads;
    • ribbons of red and green colors, each 1 m long and 0.5 m wide;
    • dry sea \u200b\u200bsalt (the grinding should be fine);
    • brush for varnish and glue;
    • sponge or paint brush;
    • paper and scissors;
    • rubber spatula;

    When all the auxiliary materials and tools are prepared, you should pick up a bottle of wine, and it will be even more interesting if it is with the contents. An alternative would be to decoupage a bottle of vodka for the New Year.

    DIY bottle decoupage master class

    First of all, prepare a bottle of wine by placing it in a container of warm water so that the labels get wet. Withstand until they move away. Then, using a cotton pad, apply nail polish remover to the bottle and degrease the surface. Then paint it white. The number of layers depends on the hiding power of the paint, through which the glass should not show through.

    The next step is to work with napkins. They must be divided into layers, only the upper part, which is with a pattern, is suitable for decoupage. We cut out those motives that are more like or suitable, and preliminarily think over their location. We offer a choice of two gluing options: stick the pattern on the base over the glue or first attach a napkin and apply a layer of glue on top. The result is the same, the choice is up to the craftswoman.

    Attention must be paid to this moment: when gluing a napkin, it must be ironed with a spatula so that air bubbles do not collect. Thus, the whole bottle of wine is gradually coated with glue and each of the napkin elements is gradually glued. The resulting decoupage should dry well, after which, with a brush with acrylic paint, go around the edges of the picture to smooth out the outlines. Now cover the entire surface with varnish in several layers, letting each of them dry.

    The final stage. Depending on the design solution grease separate areas with glue and roll these places on a sheet of paper with sprinkled salt. The effect will be snow. And tie the neck of the bottle with ribbons, tying a bow. The end result is a gift-wrapped bottle of wine.

    It was decoupage of bottles for the new year for beginners. A photo or video master class will serve as an illustrative example. For those who are not new to this technique, you can offer a more complicated option.

    Champagne decoupage

    The main attribute of the New Year's table is champagne bottles. So why not bring some color to the festive table setting? Interesting and unusual way decorate the bottles with your own hands - with a cloth. The main materials are the same as in the previous version, only minor changes:

    • take a bottle of champagne instead of wine;
    • a piece of cloth, preferably cotton;

    Master class with cloth

    Do-it-yourself step-by-step decoupage of a champagne bottle for the new year is performed as follows. The bottle is cleaned of labels, the foil remains intact. The glass is degreased.

    Then we dilute the PVA glue with water in equal proportions and soak a piece of fabric in the solution to soak. Slightly squeezing, apply to the bottle, leaving folds in an arbitrary form until completely dry.

    As for the champagne neck, you can turn it into a melted candle by making drops with a glue gun, or you can simply decorate it with tape. The finishing touch is the varnish coating in several stages. Decoupage with a cloth is considered the most effective. The master class serves as the basis, so all bottles for the new year can be decorated using decoupage technique.

    Advice! When working with napkins, it is recommended to pull out the drawings; if you cut them out, the contours will be noticeable.

    In addition to the examples above, there are many other types of decoupage. For the New Year, you can prepare a set of bottles with different options and decor styles. For example, it is not necessary to apply a certain pattern, it is enough to cover the entire plane in a chaotic manner with pieces of colored drawings or photos, and then the usual decoupage technique follows.

    Another type, the so-called reverse. The New Year's motif is attached from the opposite side of the bottle and the process is carried out in the reverse order, that is, the surface is processed from the front of the picture.

    The combination of pasted New Year's pictures with the use of other different techniqueshiding transitions. For example, painting elements. This creates the effect of painting.

    Shells, salt, eggshells, cereals and even putty are used as material for decoupage.

    Whatever technique for decoupage bottles for the New Year you stop, the proposed master class with a photo will certainly help, and for detailed information you can use the video.
