Many children and adults love to assemble jigsaw puzzles. This activity develops children's imagination, horizons, logic and fine motor skills hands. It is not surprising that the popularity of such entertainment is growing every day. A jigsaw puzzle is an intrigue, a mystery that you want to unravel, so many adults are happy to acquire jigsaw puzzles and put them together with their children. But after assembling the puzzle, the question arises: what to do with it next? It can be disassembled or glued and made into a real painting. For example, if they depict painting, then do-it-yourself pictures from puzzles can decorate any modern interior. Children love to collect pictures with their favorite cartoon characters, so it is very interesting to arrange it in the form of a picture. But how do you fix the puzzles into a painting? In order for the jigsaw puzzle to be successfully glued and not to have to throw the assembled picture into the trash with great difficulty, you need to know some of the nuances. So, how to make a picture from puzzles into a frame?

    Ways of gluing a puzzle

First of all, it is necessary to solve the question of how to fix the puzzles into a picture so that they do not fall apart, how to save the craft? The easiest option is to glue them together. How to glue puzzles into a picture with glue at home?

Gluing the puzzle from the front side

You can glue the puzzles from the front side with glue or tape. Before starting the bonding process, it is necessary to clean the painting from dust, hair and other dirt.

Important! To avoid staining the table with glue, place tracing paper or baking paper under the bottom.

Gluing the puzzle from the wrong side

If you do not want to apply glue to the front side, you can glue it from the inside out. But then the question arises of how to turn the puzzle face down. For this:

    • If you plan to glue the puzzle in this way, then you initially need to assemble it on an easily movable surface. It can be a fiberboard sheet, plexiglass or a special puzzle mat. In this case, you will have fewer problems with turning the puzzle over - just cover the assembled mosaic on top with a durable material, for example, another sheet of fiberboard and quickly turn the entire structure to the other side.

Important! If your picture is very large, then you can additionally fix the structure with tape or stationery clips.

    • You can use cling film. In this case, you need to assemble the mosaic on a substrate, which should be slightly larger in size than the puzzle itself in the assembled state. When the puzzle is assembled, wrap the whole picture together with the backing with cling film. To be sure, you can make several layers of cling film. Then the entire structure must be carefully turned over, put face down, cut through the cling film along the substrate. We turn the edges of the film to the side and carefully take out the backing. Now you can glue the puzzles, and the cling film will protect the table from the glue.
    • If the mosaic was assembled on a table or on the floor, you need to carefully move the finished drawing onto a solid surface.
    • The most optimal way, especially for large paintings, is to glue it first from the front, and then from the wrong side. First, coat the front side with glue, wait until it dries completely. Now turning the mosaic over will not be difficult. Turn over carefully and glue the wrong side with glue.

    Base for gluing the puzzle

What to glue puzzles on to make a picture? The following materials can be used as a basis.

    Fiberboard sheet

It must be cut exactly to the size of the painting. Trimming the edges after the puzzle is glued can damage the puzzle.

    1. Apply PVA glue in a thin layer so that there are no dry spots.
    2. Excess glue must be removed immediately so that it does not leak onto the front side.
    3. Place the glued sheet on the inner surface of the assembled puzzle, press down and immediately turn right side up.
    4. The glue that has entered after pressing must be removed with a clean cloth.
    5. Leave to dry completely.

Important! Such sheets are optimal for creating large paintings, their surface is even, the puzzle is easily glued, over time it does not lose its appearance and does not deteriorate. But along with the pluses, there are also disadvantages: these sheets need to be cut with special tools, besides, the picture turns out to be quite heavy and requires special fasteners.

    Styrofoam

A good alternative to fiberboard can be thin foam, which can be purchased at hardware stores. It - light material, which, moreover, is easy to cut and convenient to use. It does not deform from the glue and does not distort after it dries, since it has a thickness of about 15 mm. But such a thickness is more likely a minus, since to frame a picture with a frame, you will have to look for a sufficiently massive structure that will hide such a thickness.

    Ceiling tiles

These tiles come in a variety of thicknesses and sizes. They are easy to cut, fit in standard frames in thickness and are quite affordable:

    • For the base, you need to choose a tile without a relief pattern, with a thickness of about 4 mm.
    • A puzzle consisting of 500 pieces is placed on one tile.
    • If you have a large drawing, then you can glue several tiles with PVA glue together.
    • The joints between tiles are best done with jagged edges.
    • The puzzle is glued to reverse side tiles.
    • After gluing, you need to remove excess glue and put the painting under oppression. You can just put a board on top. If this is not done, then during the drying process of the glue, the structure may deform.

    Gauze, tulle

It can be done very simply:

    1. Glue a regular piece of gauze or tulle suitable size and attach to the mosaic.
    2. Excess glue must be removed immediately with a rag or napkin.
    3. After the glue dries, you can apply another layer on top to fix the result.
    4. The remaining edges of the gauze can be trimmed or used to stretch onto a frame or other surface.

    Adhesive or self-adhesive film

It is sold in rolls of different widths. The surface must be dry and clean without dust. The size of the film should be a couple of millimeters smaller than the size of the mosaic.

    1. Cut off the desired piece of film.
    2. Separate the paper from the transparencies about 5 cm.
    3. Apply self-adhesive tape to the surface and glue the separated edge.
    4. Then, slowly and gently pull the paper back from the rest of the paper.
    5. Use the other hand to smooth the film. You can use a towel, you can do it with your hands - as you like.

Important! To avoid bubbles, iron from the center outward. If bubbles do appear, pierce them with a needle.

    How can you glue puzzles?

Now you need to figure out what to glue the puzzles on to make a picture.

    PVA

PVA glue is used for gluing wood, paper, cardboard, glass, leather, fabrics, etc. It is also perfect for gluing puzzles. It dries quickly and becomes transparent after drying, so do not be confused by the white glue spots - they will soon disappear.

Important! Suitable for both the seamy side and the front side.

    Step Puzzle

This is a special glue for gluing puzzles. It is often included in the kit. It is spread over the entire surface with a piece of foam rubber or with a brush.

    Powder adhesive from Clementini

This is glue from Italian puzzle makers, which usually comes with the puzzle itself. It must be diluted in water in a ratio of 1 to 3. The glue is quickly absorbed and, if diluted correctly, leaves no residue.

    Silicate stationery glue

While not intended for this purpose, it nevertheless does a great job and gives the picture a glossy sheen.

    Scotch

Common scotch tape has become widespread among puzzle lovers. They can easily glue the wrong side. First glue your painting vertically, then horizontally.

What frames can be made from?

There are many ways to frame a picture from puzzles:

    • The easiest way is to buy a ready-made frame of a suitable size.
    • A simple but very cute frame will turn out from not sharpened colored pencils. In this case, the basis for the picture should be larger than the drawing itself. Colored pencils of the desired size are glued along the edges. They can be glued to the Moment glue.
    • A beautiful frame will turn out from the ceiling plinth. You need to cut it with a clerical knife and glue it to the base along the perimeter of the picture using the Moment or Liquid Nails glue. Then you can paint your frame with acrylic paints.
    • You can make a frame from a shoe box, but the frame is limited by the size of the box. Cut a hole in the bottom of the box to match the size of the puzzle. The mosaic itself needs to be glued to the lid of the box, put the lid in the box, and the frame is ready. You can decorate it as you wish, or simply paint it with paints.

They are now being made a lot, they are soft, it is great to play with them in the bathroom, they are so developing of themselves ... Yes, everything is fine! But few people know that there are many more ways to use such puzzles.

I'll make a reservation - for our purposes we need a fairly thick puzzle, at least 1 centimeter thick. I once bought such a set, tried to build from it, and it turned out to be a wonderful soft and large cube. I wanted more - and I bought a few more sets. Then, unfortunately, they stopped selling them, I didn't find them on the network either, otherwise I would probably have bought the whole batch. Their scope of application turned out to be very wide.

So if anyone can identify our puzzles, please let me know. Children have grown up, but puzzles can still be used.

So, twenty ways to use soft puzzles (subject to the purchase of several sets, we have 30 squares):

    1. As a matter of fact, as we thought - like a puzzle.
2.Another standard application - you can make a soft mat - it is large and warm, comfortable to play on a cold floor

3.You can find the same pictures, sort the puzzles by color and collect figures of the same color from them

    4. Having folded cubes out of them, you can use them as chests - and here, too, there are a lot of applications: "pirate chest", "find where the toy is hidden", etc.

    5. the actual cubes - they are large, light, bright. You can build a wall, a tower, and so on from cubes.

6.If you build carefully, you can fold just a huge tower - its height is simply amazing for children

7.The same tower easily turns into a slide-tunnel, along which cars are driven

    8. cubes without one side - houses, garages, etc. You can also make windows, doors, etc. there.

9.You can build one large garage with several driveways and tunnels

    10. You can fold a track from squares - cars can drive along it, but best of all, when the children themselves drive, they love it. On the road, you can put obstacles, all of the same squares folded in a house, make gaps

    11. You can take a long journey through the swamp using the puzzle squares as "bumps". Children can throw them in front of them and jump from bump to bump. You can come up with a whole quest, come somewhere, get the treasure, fight the villain and come back. And all without leaving the room 😉

    12. you can build a bridge - cars will pass through it, dolls will pass and children themselves will climb - only O-very carefully, otherwise you can break it. Children like

13.turning over the bridge, we get the first version of the fortress, with towers

14.You can build a fortress wall, what's inside - at your discretion
    15. the same principle is used to build a "crib", "boat", etc.

    16. You can build a tunnel through which cars can drive, or children themselves can.

17.You can build a large labyrinth if you only make walls, without a floor - it's so fragile, but the labyrinth will turn out to be large

    18. You can build a chair (if you make the seat longer, then a bed) for dolls. With a certain accuracy, children can sit there themselves. And when they push the hole in the middle, announce that you have turned out a pot - a sea of joy is guaranteed!

    19. Squares simply stacked on top of each other and fastened together can form a ladder or log for walking.

    20. You can build a wall. Children love to hide behind her. It's not very strong, but that's all the funnier. With two boys, you can make a little war by building two walls below

I've always wanted to tell manufacturers about all of these variations of games - let them put descriptions of variations of games in their toys. But you can also tell us - let as many mothers as possible know that such puzzles are just a treasure.

Persevering and calm people often spend their leisure time collecting large and complex puzzles. As well as children who develop fine motor skills and logic. And now, when all the details are in place, a logical question arises about what to do with the assembled picture. Disassemble and put back in the box? Or leave it as a painting? And then how to glue the puzzles so that they do not fall apart? There are several ways to make your dream come true.

How to glue puzzles with glue?

Now in art stores you can find such a tool as an adhesive base for mosaics, and puzzles too. It can be either PVA type glue or transparent adhesive film. The latter is advisable to use only for small pictures, since there is a risk that they will come out with air bubbles or wrinkles. It is very difficult to apply the film over a large area. In total, there are two main ways to glue puzzles.

Option number 1: flip the picture

It is very important what the cardboard mosaic was originally assembled on. If it is, for example, a sheet of fiberboard or chipboard, a puzzle mat or cardboard, then turning the finished picture will not be difficult. To do this, you just need to put another similar sheet on top of the mosaic, press it tightly, and then turn it over. If the picture is very large, then you can additionally fasten the substrates with paper clips or tape. After that, glue should be applied to the seamy side of the puzzle and allowed to dry completely, as indicated in the instructions. For those who have not purchased the adhesive, the same scotch tape may come in handy. The stripes are laid in width (so it will be denser), and overlap. This way the picture will last longer. It doesn't matter at all whether or not there are air bubbles under the tape. From the inside, this is still not visible, but neatness should not be neglected.

    Option number 2: no coup

If the puzzles were assembled on the floor, and the size simply does not allow you to quickly turn the finished picture, then you can fasten everything without any upside-downs. To do this, first of all, you need to slip polyethylene under the future picture. For example, it could be an open trash bag. What is it for? In order not to spoil the flooring with glue. Even the largest painting is not so difficult to slowly drag onto the polyethylene, neatly, centimeter by centimeter. After that, you can use various means to hold the puzzle together. For example, liquid diluted PVA glue. Or all the same transparent tape. For application, it is better to use a wide and flat brush. If you are sticking transparent tape, then you need to do it very carefully so that there are no air bubbles, no hitch, no folds. On top of the glue, it will not be superfluous to apply a layer of varnish without color. This will add a gloss to the painting and bond the elements even more tightly.

    Mixed version, universal method

Often, universal gluing is also used. Several technologies are used here at once. For example, before gluing the puzzles with tape from the front side, a fabric cloth is glued to the wrong side. Due to him, the picture is kept more confident. But this method requires a double flip of the finished mosaic. The fabric can be made of any material: cotton, linen, cotton blend. It is desirable to give preference natural fabrics as they are the easiest to glue.

Another versatile option is a mix of glue and tape, which are attached to one side. For example, facial. Before gluing the assembled puzzles, you need to remove all debris, dust and dirt. This will require a fan brush or a simple thick brush. Apply diluted liquid PVA glue, let it dry for 2 hours, then stick the strips of transparent tape. You do not need to apply varnish on top. So the picture will be glossy.

Each of the adhesives has its own characteristics in operation. So, for example, it is recommended to apply adhesive tape not only along the width of the picture, but also with an allowance. Why? This will provide greater structural strength. The excess can then be carefully cut off with a blade or Only sharpened.

Before gluing a picture from puzzles, pay special attention to where it is located. If it is not too difficult to move the composition from the table onto the fiberboard sheets, then it is more problematic to do it from the floor. It is advisable to immediately start collecting puzzles with the calculation of further gluing on a special rug or on a sheet of plywood. In the future, the picture can be framed and hung on the wall as a decorative element.

How to glue puzzles of any size correctly? After cleaning the picture from excess debris, crumbs, apply adhesive and insert into the frame. Often, such mosaics decorate children's rooms. And, of course, it is worth picking up puzzles in accordance with age and development, so that sooner or later the picture will be assembled and not put in a box.

Both adults and children love to collect jigsaw puzzles. But over time, collecting the same picture gets bored, and individual fragments, despite all your efforts, may get lost. But do not rush to get rid of old sets - you can make a lot of interesting things out of them! Especially when it comes to the puzzles of the BG company - they are made from durable and high-quality cardboard, which allows you to make many interesting things out of them.

For example, from the assembled puzzle you can make cover for children's notebook - you just need to fit it to the size of a notebook or notepad. If you are using only a fragment of the picture, then you need to make a frame or background. To do this, you can take colored cardboard "BG" (not only smooth, but also corrugated sheets- they will look especially impressive). So, for work you need a notebook or notebook, a puzzle, double-sided tape, scissors, a knife or a cutter for thick cardboard. The assembled puzzle is glued to the cover or a sheet of cardboard using double-sided tape to make the binding. If necessary, the size of the puzzle is slightly adjusted or the corners are rounded.

Similar materials can be used to make coasters - small coasters ... They will also need a cardboard base. It is only better to use not double-sided tape for gluing, but BG glue, so that it adheres better even under the influence of heat and steam from a hot cup.

From the assembled puzzles of the same size, you can make a square box for yarn and thread ... In this case, a cardboard base is also taken. In order for the box to hold better, it is recommended to make dense cardboard corners and an additional bottom.

From puzzles you can make Greeting Cards - moreover, in the assortment line of puzzles of the company "BG" you will find a wide selection of themes and images.

If you have lost puzzle pieces, you can make many decorative items from scattered pieces. For example, they can decorate the frame for photographs by gluing the puzzles with all-purpose glue in any order you think of.

From separate fragments you can make Christmas decorations ... For example, by cutting out a frame-base in the shape of a heart, a ball or a Christmas tree from colored cardboard "BG" and gluing the puzzles on top using glue or double-sided tape.

Of course, the use of puzzles is not limited to the listed ways, and every lover of such puzzles will surely have own ideas for creativity.

Today, handicrafts and creativity are back in vogue. Both children and adults are passionate about drawing, creating collages and postcards, collecting puzzles and even inventing new forms of art. This means that the demand for any materials for artistic creation is growing. Offer your customers the best

If there is a child in the house, then there must be at least one jigsaw puzzle in it. Such an interesting and exciting game is to collect a whole beautiful picture from small pieces. However, these tiny curly pieces tend to get lost, and then the game is over. Do not rush to throw the remains of the puzzle into the trash can. There are many interesting uses for them!

From the remains of the puzzles, unusual pictures are obtained - try to lay out a flower, butterfly or other figurine from them on cardboard. It doesn't matter that the fragments have different colors and patterns, it will still be very beautiful.

You can use jigsaw puzzles to update the hard cover of a book, a notebook, the outside of a pencil cup, plastic flower pots, or make a rug on a table.

From old puzzles, wonderful bookmarks come out into books, comfortable tracks are built for races of small cars, an unusual wall decoration in a dollhouse is obtained.

From puzzles you can assemble abacus on a wire, beads on a string, as well as a picture of hanging multilevel ribbons.

If you stick a pin to the puzzle, the icon will come out.

And from the surviving puzzle pieces you get unusual postcards self made. All you need is to choose a piece of the puzzle that suits the topic and glue it to thick paper folded in the form of a postcard. And then write your wishes.

A great gift can be made from the following materials:

    Remains of puzzles;
    Acrylic paints different colors;
    Painting brushes;
    Glue;
Vertical cardboard frame for a photo (you can make it yourself from thick paper to fit the size of a future photo).

    Sequencing:

    1. Take the puzzles, turn them over with the back side and paint them with different colors of paints.
    2. Place a thin brush along the edges of each painted piece, which must be lowered beforehand into white paint, dots. You will get a pea effect.
    3. Allow the paint to dry.
    4. Glue the puzzles on the cardboard frame in random order.

Tips: You don't have to paint the puzzles, but choose colorful pieces and glue them like this. Or glue some fragments and then cover them mother-of-pearl varnish... It is better to put puzzles that are glued separately on top of each other with an offset. This overlap will give the frame a three-dimensional look. And it is not at all necessary to align the edges of the frame, cutting off the irregularities of the puzzles, because this is the whole beauty.

If you want to get a smooth edge, pick up those puzzle pieces that should have been located along the edges of the puzzle.

Imagine yourself, involve kids in this activity. They are such inventors! Create a whole gallery of gifts that will delight your loved ones, relatives and friends.
