Booties are the most touching shoes for the youngest children. They use the softest materials that cannot irritate the baby’s delicate skin. The mother herself can knit openwork booties for her baby, or relatives can give them to her at the time of discharge from the hospital.

p.s In the last article we looked at how to knit booties

Even a novice needlewoman will not find it difficult to crochet booties, using the instructions of experienced craftsmen who tell you step by step about all stages of the work. Booties will keep your baby's feet warm and comfortable, and when he grows up, they will remain a funny reminder of infancy.

We offer you a master class on how to crochet booties. Any woman will want to learn this when trying to express her love for her newborn baby. Therefore, booties are decorated with openwork knitted elements, beads, chiffon, and ribbons.

So, what you need to have to crochet booties for newborns:

    • yarn, preferably made from natural cotton;
    • hook selected according to the thickness of the thread;
    • one and a half meters of satin ribbon one and a half centimeters wide;
    • 25 centimeters of chiffon;
    • mother of pearl beads.

How to choose yarn for booties

It is better to choose yarn for creating booties that is designated as children's yarn. For example, it has the name “Baby” or “Krokha”, and the name of the imported yarn contains the mark “baby”. This yarn is guaranteed to be hypoallergenic, is more closely monitored for safety, and provides better workmanship.

If you haven’t found any special yarn for babies, try to ensure that the yarn you choose is:

    • Natural, wool or cotton, in extreme cases, acrylic. Synthetic yarn will not allow air to circulate and can become electrified, while natural material will absorb moisture and allow the baby’s skin to breathe. You just need to keep in mind that natural yarn will shrink after the first wash, so you need to knit with a small margin.
    • Painted in soft pastel colors, mainly yellow, orange and green, as these are the shades that children like best. Try to avoid bright “poisonous” colors, as particles of such dyes can irritate delicate baby skin.
    • Not very thick and rough, which can damage delicate skin. Even in winter it is better not to overdo it, and in summer the threads should generally be thin.

    What size should booties be?

Take a measurement of your baby's feet onto a piece of paper. Draw a straight line along the sheet, attach the baby’s heel to it, and mark the end of the big toe with a line. Also determine the dimensions of the widest point of the child's foot. To ensure that the booties fit comfortably on your feet, add one and a half centimeters to these dimensions.

The foot length of a newborn baby is usually 9 centimeters, for a 3-6 month old baby it is 9 centimeters, and for a 6-9 month old baby it is 11.5 centimeters. To create booties you will need 55-75 meters of yarn. You can use knitting needles number 2 - 4.5: the thicker the yarn, the thicker the knitting needles are needed.

We offer you several lessons for beginners: a step-by-step video of crocheting a variety of booties. After these lessons you will be able to crochet sneakers:

    Content

Booties are the cutest item of clothing for a newborn. Crocheting booties will not take you much time, but will bring you a lot of pleasure. Here you will find a description of knitting, as well as patterns and patterns for knitting booties. If you haven’t crocheted booties yet, don’t be afraid, start, a step-by-step description for beginners will help you cope with this work.

    Knitting materials

    • 50 grams of turquoise “Iris” cotton threads
    • 15 grams white
    • 40 cm white satin ribbon 0.5 cm wide
    • hook number 3

We always knit the booties in two threads. It is better to knit two booties from two balls at the same time. This allows you to get a more even knitting.

Booties for the smallest babies (0-3 months) have a sole length of 9 cm.

    Knitting soles of booties

    Let's start knitting the sole.

Experienced needlewomen can use the sole knitting pattern

And for beginner knitters, I describe the knitting process in detail:

We collect a chain of 13 air loops and plus 3 air loops for lifting.

1st row: from the 5th loop from the beginning of the chain we knit 11 double crochets. In the last loop of our chain we knit 5 double crochets, then 11 double crochets, then in one loop we knit 4 double crochets and end the row with a connecting loop, i.e. join the last loop to climb

2nd row: 3 air loops for lifting, 11 double crochets, 5 times 2 double crochets in each loop, 11 double crochets, 4 times 2 double crochets in each loop, 1 double crochet, end the row with a connecting loop

3rd row: 3 air loops for lifting, 12 double crochets, 8 times 2 double crochets in each loop, 13 double crochets, 8 times 2 double crochets in each loop, 1 double crochet, end the row with a connecting loop

The result is a sole like this

From the second ball we knit the second sole in the same way. They should turn out the same. If this is not the case, then you are knitting either tighter or looser, and you will have to re-bandage

Now we need to move on to knitting the sides, that is, move from horizontal knitting to vertical and strengthen the sole. To do this, we knit one row with single crochets and increases, grabbing not by the base loop, but wrapping around the column of the previous row. Let's look at the photos:

We insert the hook from the inside out from right to left,

we twist the column of the previous row,

    pick up the thread

and pull it out to the wrong side of the sole,

    knit with a single crochet

And so on until the end of the row.

    Knitting bootie sides

Now we knit a border - these are two rows of single crochets and without adding. Don’t forget to end each row with a connecting loop, and start the next row with 2 lifting loops. This is how the “bath” turned out

    Knitting toe booties

Fold the bootie in half lengthwise and find the center. To the left and right of the center we put 15 loops aside and mark with a paper clip or thread. From this mark we knit the toe.

We knit 1 row: 3 air loops for lifting, 4 double crochets, knit 2 double crochets together 10 times, 5 double crochets. Rotate knitting

We knit row 2: 3 chain stitches for lifting, 4 double crochets, knit 2 double crochets together 5 times, 5 double crochets. Rotate knitting

We knit the 3rd row: 3 chain stitches for lifting, 4 double crochets, 1 chain crochet, 5 double crochets

This is how we got the toe

    Knitting a bootie top

Using connecting loops (2 - 3 pieces) we move to a colored thread or paper clip, knit one row of double crochets in a circle

Then we knit the top of the booties according to the pattern.

These crochet booties fit snugly on little feet. Unlike many other booties that get knocked down or slip off, making it difficult for a tiny person to take confident steps.

The secret is in the sole. It is this that makes it possible to knit booties that not only look good, but also wear well.

By the way, it is this sole that I use as a base for crocheting slippers for adults. Of course, they are knitted with some modifications for adult feet, but this pattern helps make the slippers beautiful and comfortable. But this is true, by the way.

    Step by step crochet booties

Pattern of a comfortable foot for crochet booties

Knit according to the pattern, only knit the last row to the middle of the heel and do not break the thread. We knit it tightly, it’s still a sole, albeit a thread one.

We knit the purl row with single crochets, to do this we insert a hook under the pigtail.

    Steam the finished sole.

    Description of the bootie top

We knit 2 rows of double crochets (DC) in a circle, bend them in half and mark the center of the sock.

We count 13 loops from the center to the right and tie the working thread. We knit the sock according to the pattern (start where 3 VP).
We connect the remaining 5Dcs on each side with a crochet on the wrong side.

We knit the heel part from the middle of the heel:

    • 1st row - Dc in a circle, in the corners of the connection with the toe, 3 Dcs together, along the top of the toe, 2 Dcs for each Dc lying across
    • 2nd row - DC in a circle
    • 3rd and 4th row - mesh (Dc + VP on every second base loop)

This grid of posts will serve as the basis for the ruffle if you have a girl. For a boy, you can knit something more brutal. For example, just a lapel and decorate it not with beads and ribbons, but with a Christmas tree or Santa Claus, a snowflake or something else.

Read more about how to connect the sole to the top of the booties in the photo

You need to cast on 1 ch instep and, holding the sole and bootie with the wrong side to each other, tie them together in a st. On the diagram of the sole, the column from which we begin to connect is indicated in red.

Please note that when connecting we only capture the inner parts of the loops!

    Crochet ruffle

    1. On the last row of the mesh we knit 3 DC+VP between them for each wall of the cell in a zigzag (like the letter P)
    2. All that remains is to decorate with the finishing color. We knit in chains of 3 VPs, sc between the dcs of the previous row.
    3. Along the braid that we still have on the sole we also knit 3 ch, sc. Here you can knit beads.
    4. We knit a flower, decorate it with beads and sew it on the bootie. We pass the ribbon along the row of the mesh.

The booties are ready. Easy loops and joy for your baby. Let him confidently walk the earth to the joy of mom and dad, as well as aunts, uncles and grandparents.

Afterword: these booties make excellent slippers for the home. They fit perfectly on the leg. You just need to make the heel higher, knitting the back part in short rows.

How to crochet booties: a master class for beginners

We have already told you how to crochet booties for newborns and provided various patterns and patterns. In this same section, we want to show you a way to knit cute booties that will be understandable even to a beginner. So, we take soft yarn of two colors and a thin hook for work.

    1. Knitting the sole, it will be 10 cm in length. To do this, we collect 12 air loops and add 3 lifting air loops. We get 15 ch.

    2. Insert the hook into the fourth loop (in the direction from the hook) and knit 3 rows according to the pattern you see in the photo.

    3. Now we take threads of a different color and move on to the sides.

    4. To knit the fourth row, we knit a single crochet loop into the back wall of each stitch. We tie the bootie with loops in the amount of 56 pieces.

    5. We knit the fifth row, just like the fourth. We get 2 white rows.

    6. Change the color of the threads to blue and knit cones. We create them according to the following scheme: knit 2 chain stitches, then 2 unfinished stitches and make an air loop.

    7. We should skip one loop and then knit another cone.

    8. Make an air loop.

    9. Continue knitting according to this pattern. In this way we should make rows 6 and 7.

    10. At the end of the seventh row we close the knitting and break the thread. Take a white thread and insert the hook strictly in the middle of the side.

    11. We begin to knit the toe of our bootie. Insert the hook into the back wall of the loop and knit a white cone using 2 unfinished loops.

    12. The next white bumps will consist of three unfinished loops. Total there should be 14 loops, which will become the outline of the toe of the bootie. The last bump will consist of two unfinished loops.

    13. Turn the work and continue knitting cones on the next row.

    14. Make 7 cones and connect them together.

    15. Make 4 more cones.

    16. We finish the row.

    17. We knit 2 more rows of white cones and change the color of the threads to blue.

    18. Let's move on to decorating. To do this, you need to knit 3 air loops for each column.

How to knit booties: sneakers for baby

Modern booties are not the usual “grandmother’s” slippers with huge flowers, tassels and bows (although these often look like masterpieces). This is also stylish sneakers for boys, adorable boots or cute ballerina shoes for girls, as well as absolutely awesome little animals for everyone, everyone, everyone. And right now we will show you how to crochet booties and sneakers. And not simple ones either, but with the Adidas logo, just like in the best stores. Although you can’t buy such a masterpiece in any store. Prepare some inspiration (maybe in the form of a baby who is currently sleeping), cotton yarn and hook number 2.

    1. We knit the sole according to the pattern. Almost all baby booties begin to be knitted from the sole.

    2. We make 2 rows up without increasing with single crochets. Please note - decorative embroidery in a contrasting color.

    3. So far, here are the simplest crochet booties for beginners. We knit a sock from 30 front stitches. We knit the first row with single crochets, the second - with double crochets (3 loops with one vertex). You should still have 10 stitches left.

    4. We fasten these 10 stitches together, pass the thread to the beginning of the row and make 2 rows of single crochet.

    5. Double crochet - 7 rows. Leave holes for the lace.

    6. We make the “tongue” of our sneaker. We knit the last 3 rows with white threads. We tie the product around the perimeter for beauty.

    7. Embroider the Adidas logo, make a lace and pull it through the holes.

Here we have studied master class on knitting booties for future athletes. By the way, these sneakers are also suitable for girls. You just need to prepare more delicate or bright colors.
