    An excellent accessory to the clothes of ladies of any age is an openwork home-knitted scarf. You will be able to show all your skills in crocheting when creating such a product. It is worth choosing both the classic options used in Orenburg scarves and stoles, as well as new, original ones offered by knitters on the Internet. An original, artsy or modest women's scarf in the summer version will become self-expression, and in the winter it will also warm you well, protecting you from the piercing wind.

    Women's openwork scarf - the latest and most unusual ideas

    Today it is not fashionable to hide a scarf under clothes, whether it is an arafatka or a voluminous snood; it is customary to put it on display. Let's take advantage of this trend and crochet an interesting openwork scarf. An accessory has the right to be large, covering not only the neck, but also the shoulders, even if worn over a fur coat.

    A scarf in bad weather can be used with any item of clothing without regard to style. The openwork version of the product is not suitable for a sporty style, however, wearing such a scarf with some styles of down jackets is acceptable. A felt hat and a drape coat are excellent “allies” of an openwork accessory. A jacket and a knitted hat in the same style are not the only option: a scarf will become a stylish headdress when made as a snood. When this attribute is worn over clothing, it is easy to combine with a hood.

    An openwork scarf with a summer or mid-season cardigan would not be out of place. Don’t be afraid that all the products will turn out to be knitted: they can really be combined beautifully. The play of color is important here - contrasting or matching.

    An older lady can easily combine an openwork scarf with a pillbox hat, a fur hat, or a beret. It’s a good idea to throw such an accessory over a knitted dress for warmth.

    How to knit an openwork scarf - diagram and description

    The advantages of openwork scarf models are that they are quick to knit. The thinner the accessory, the more airy the knitting, the faster you can handle it. Naturally, it is most convenient to crochet an openwork scarf. It’s not difficult to find patterns for this; the main thing is to figure out where to start knitting a scarf. Even openwork products can be warm; they will require woolen or mixed threads. Summer scarves can be made from cotton or completely synthetic yarn. The use of lurex and other decorations is encouraged in airy accessories.

    Knitted women's scarf

    A warm scarf will create an interesting pattern if it is made with a snake. The pattern begins with a chain, but after knitting 10 loops, you begin to connect the next four loops with the beginning of the chain using double crochets:

    • The 11th loop is connected to the 4th;
    • 12th – from 3rd;
    • 13th – from 2nd;
    • 14th – from 1st.

    Six loops of the chain remained free. Now we knit 6 chain stitches on the other side and start connecting them from the 7th in a similar way. You will get two arches from different sides of the work. We perform the entire sequence several times until we get the width of the scarf. This is where the turning element begins. First, three lifting loops are made. Then an additional ring of thread is made, large enough to string 8 loops onto. The loops of the lifting chain are passed into this ring. You can fasten them on it and add three more loops. We connect the loops with the previous columns, first with a half-column, then with a column, then with two double crochets. Thus, through the ring, we knit three elements from chains and columns, getting a turn. Next we knit in the opposite direction to the other edge of the scarf. We turn again, etc.

    Such a scarf will not only have an interesting texture, but also unusual raised edges. This way you can crochet an openwork scarf or even a stole. To get a snood, it’s easy to figure out how best to loop the snake pattern.

    Openwork summer scarf

    You can crochet an original openwork scarf using an additional device. It can be a wide ruler, a medical spatula for examining the throat, or a discount card. First, you need to tie the additional tool with a thread of the same color. As you work, you can carefully lower the loops from it, knitting a “snake” the length of the future scarf. Set aside the finished “snake” and knit a similar one in a different color. Using a crochet hook, you need to alternately intertwine ten or more long loops of each of the snakes to get something like a braid. On one side, loops are again cast on in a third color - with an additional tool tied. The “counter snake” is knitted separately, as in the first case. Next, a similar weave is performed. Continue this way until you reach the desired width of the scarf.

    As an option, you can knit some other openwork pattern between the two-color braids, which will add originality to the idea of a summer scarf.

    "Spiderweb" pattern

    The classic version of a weightless summer scarf is “pineapples”, “shells” and “cobwebs”, crocheted. In order for the scarf to have interesting symmetrical edges, knitting should be started from the middle, knitting a chain that is a multiple of 40 loops. The second row is an arc of 7 air loops, periodically attached with single crochets to the initial chain with a step of 4 loops. In the second row, a “shell” is knitted from every fifth arc: seven double crochets. The remaining arcs are knitted in a checkerboard pattern. There should be three arcs between the “shells”. In the third row, “shells” are performed like this: *double crochet, chain stitch* – 6 times. At the end of the shell, after the 7th double crochet stitch, the chain stitch is not performed, since there is a stitch for catching the lower arc. In this row, only two arcs are made between the shells. In the “shells” of the fourth row, two chain stitches are already made between double crochets. There is already one arc left between the “shells”. The fifth row is a border of “shells”. There, 5 double crochets are knitted from two air loops. And between them, a single crochet is knitted at the top of the double crochet stitch. The single arc of the previous row is captured with a single crochet - the only element between the shells.

    Using this principle, one half of an openwork scarf is crocheted. Then you need to return to the original chain and tie the same thing in the other direction. Then you will have a ready-made scarf for summer.

    Video: crochet openwork scarf for beginners

    You can also find many video tutorials online on how to crochet an openwork scarf for beginners. If it’s hard to immediately take on the “shells” design, then you can make a basic air scarf from just the arcs. It’s a good idea to create an openwork scarf from round arc motifs, combining them with each other. Each element is knitted separately: a ring is cast on, tied with a row of single crochets, then arcs are knitted. Each arc consists of a chain of air loops ending with a single crochet, knitted into the base. With each row, the length of the arc increases proportionally so that the motif is flat.

    Otherwise, the openwork scarf will not come out flat, and such a product may look ugly.

    Nothing gives more scope for creativity than handmade children's scarves (crocheted). They can be knitted under each new jacket or hat.

    Hat and scarf set

    You can choose the simplest pattern for them. It will be described a little below. The highlight of this set is the combination of three shades that are similar in intensity.

    The pattern is repeated every four rows. Its diagram is located in the figure below.

    Air scarf for spring

    The direction of knitting goes from the center in a circle, so the chain of loops should be long. Since ready-made children's scarves (crocheted) using this pattern will be slightly longer than the chain, this should be taken into account. The pattern is repeated every 6 loops, so their total number should be divided by six.

    The yarn for such crocheted children's scarves (with patterns) should be chosen thin, for example, having a length of 370 meters and a weight of 100 grams. The hook for it will have to be number 1.75.

    The first row consists of alternating five chain stitches and a connecting stitch, knitted into every sixth of the initial chain.

    In the second row, after three lifting loops in the first arch, knit 8 double crochets, in the second arch - one connecting stitch, 5 air stitches, another connecting stitch in the third arch, continue knitting the same pattern, only there should be double crochets in each first arch 9. Knit like this in the round. In the corners you need to knit five air loops for rounding.

    The third row (lift - 3 loops) consists of double crochets, alternating with one chain stitch; in the arch of the chain of chain loops there will be a connecting post.

    In the fourth row, at each top of the double crochet, knit 5 chain stitches between them.

    Fifth row: connect the first two arches with the same pattern, in the third arch connect 9 double crochets. Continue the arch and fan pattern to the end of the circle.

    The last one is the sixth row: above each fan, tie 9 columns, alternating with one air loop; in the arch, make one connecting one from air loops.

    You can add another row consisting of single crochets, which alternate with one air loop.

    Bactus scarf

    The described technique allows you to get an unusual jagged edge. It resembles the open mouth of a dragon. Such children's scarves (crocheted) will appeal to little fashionistas and will not leave their mothers indifferent. After all, it is enough to knit a larger model to get an original scarf for a teenager or woman.

    To make the product large and light enough, you will need a thin thread. It’s good if it has the following characteristics: weight - 60 grams, length - 260 meters. It is better to choose a hook number 5 or 6.

    The beginning of each row is a rise of five air loops. They are equivalent to one column with three crochets.

    The basis of knitting is a chain of 5 loops. In the first row, work a double crochet stitch into the very first stitch of the cast-on chain. The series is completed. It turns out that it consists of two large columns.

    Second: after lifting, knit 2 double crochets at the top of the second stitch of the previous row.

    In the third and each subsequent odd row, to the center of the scarf, knit the first stitch with three crochets at the base of the instep, and then one stitch in each loop.

    In all subsequent even rows, a double stitch with three crochets must be knitted from the last loop.

    Decrease from the middle of the scarf. Instead of a double column from one base, knit two with a common top.

    To knit the jagged edge of such a children's scarf you will need to knit along the front side of the product:

    • 7 air loops;
    • connecting, single crochet, half double crochet in the first three loops;
    • air;
    • double crochet, double crochet, triple crochet - in the next three loops;
    • connecting to the first column of the scarf fabric.

    Repeat this pattern along the entire corner edge of the bactus.

    Scarf-kerchief

    Children's scarves (crocheted) can be crocheted in the form of a headscarf using different techniques. One of them is Bosnian knitting.

    It is based on knitting with simple connecting stitches. The most important thing is to always perform them on the same side of the loop. For example, only the front or only the back. The pattern on the front side turns out to be identical to the back side.

    But the pattern in these techniques is very different. It is recommended to knit test squares to understand which one you would most like to knit a children's scarf.

    Scarf with a simple pattern for a boy or girl

    You need to start knitting them with a chain of such a number of loops that its length is equal to the width of the future scarf. But at the same time, the total number of air loops must be even. Because the pattern has a repeating part based on two loops.

    Then repeat rows that repeat the same element of the pattern - an arch of two double crochets and a chain loop between them. This diagram can be seen in more detail in the figure.

    Scarf snood

    These are very simple crocheted children's scarves. There are usually no problems with circuits. Because they are formed by connecting, half-columns, columns with one or two crochets. These elements can be easily reproduced by every needlewoman.

    If the pattern indicates an air loop, then when knitting you need to skip one loop in the bottom row to create a gap.

    Start knitting in a set of chains of loops, the number of which is divisible by 16. Make a series of connecting stitches on them.

    The first row of the pattern: aerial, three connecting, aerial, half-column, aerial, double crochet, aerial, double crochet, aerial, then the stitches go in the reverse order until one connecting. Three connecting columns should be formed between fragments with increasing height. Continue these slides until the end of the row.

    The second and third rows of the pattern consist of connecting columns. In the fifth row, knit the same hill, but so that its top falls on the depression, and at the top of the mountain of the previous rows - three connecting ones.

    The sixth and seventh - repeat the second and third. And so on until the desired width of the snood.

    Simple fringed scarf

    Boys and girls can do this in which all the rows are the same and consist of repeating the same columns. For example, half-columns or single crochets.

    The main decoration of such children's scarves is the yarn, which can be dyed sectionally. At the ends you can tie a long fringe. To do this, it is enough to make the chains of the required length and fasten them along the edge of the scarf. You will get very high arches, each of which will play the role of one string of fringe.

    In bad, cool weather you want to keep warm. In addition, you also want to look good. Therefore, women always very carefully select an accessory such as a scarf. And in this master class we will knit a beautiful openwork crochet scarf. Despite its openwork, such a scarf can be worn in winter if knitted from wool or wool mixture. The main thing here is that the threads are as soft and pleasant to the touch as possible.

    A women's openwork scarf can be knitted in any color and any length you want. The scarf is knitted in four repeating rows. They are all similar to each other, so you need to be careful when knitting so as not to get confused at the first stage.

    To knit a scarf we will need:

    • Yarn;
    • Hook.

    Abbreviations in the text of MK:

    VP – air loop;

    RLS – single crochet;

    Dc - double crochet.

    We will knit our openwork scarf according to the following pattern.

    We start knitting a scarf from a set of loops. The repeat of our pattern is eight loops. Therefore, it is necessary to collect a number of VPs that is a multiple of eight.

    Now we skip three VPs in the chain, and knit one of the elements into the fourth. We knit it like this. We make three dcs in a loop. Then we do one VP. And again we knit three more dcs here.

    We do one VP. We skip three more loops and knit one sc into the fourth.

    We do one VP. And repeat knitting until the end of the chain.

    We knit a new row. And we start it with six VPs. Next, in the VP, which is between the dc, we knit a sc. We make three more VPs and knit a dc in the sc in the bottom row.

    Again we make three VPs and knit a sc in a VP between the dcs of the bottom row and so on.

    We will knit three dc, one ch and three dc in the dc of the bottom row.

    Then we will perform one VP and knit a sc in the sc of the bottom row. And so on until the end of the row.

    We knit a new row.

    We perform one VP and knit a sc in the first loop. Then we make three VPs and knit a dc in the sc in the bottom row. Again we make three VPs and knit a sc in a VP between the dcs of the bottom row. Next, again, three VP and Dc in the RLS of the bottom row. And so on until the end of the row.

    We knit a scarf of the required length. Then we hide the thread and cut it. After this, we make another row with a pattern along the side of the scarf from which we started knitting, that is, where we picked up the air chain. We knit here the row that we knitted first.

    This is such an openwork and beautiful crochet scarf!
