After returning the crown, you will receive a unique “Thief's Luck” effect, which will increase the chance of finding gems in all kinds of chests.

Just recently the game Skyrim was released. This game has many new features and, accordingly, many new items. The entire Skyrim game is literally teeming with them. - these are stones that will need to be collected for one of the game quests.

    What it is?

These stones once adorned the legendary crown of Barenziah, Queen of Mournhold, but one day they were removed from there.

Over time, of course, they became lost throughout Skyrim. In total, the crown was framed by 24 stones. Only all the items collected together will be able to awaken the power of the legendary magical crown in the world of Skyrim. The location of the Barenziah Stones is still unknown. They can be anywhere and with anyone! Only a true hero will be able to put them together and comprehend the full power of magic.

    When needed

While walking around Skyrim, players may discover an "Unusual Stone". Externally, this item is a small gold-colored box, inside of which lies. By picking it up, the player will not be able to throw the box away. As it turns out later, the find is the mystical stone of Barenziah.

After the player picks up at least one such trophy, he will be able to begin the quest “Look Under Every Stone”. In it you will need to collect Barenziah's stones. "Skyrim" will give the player the opportunity to be a real treasure hunter! After all, exactly 24 magic stones are well hidden.

But before the quest begins, one condition must be met. The game character must be a member of the Thieves Guild and talk to Vex, who will tell you that the “Unusual Stone” is of no value, but if you collect 24 pieces, they can be sold for a good amount.

After this, the pebble will be renamed "Barenziah's Stone". It is important to note that in Skyrim the Barenziah stones are not marked on the map in any way, nor is the quest for them. Therefore, be careful.

    Known bugs

As with any program, there are bugs in the game Skyrim. - this is a favorite subject of all sorts of problems. Now we will tell you how to complete the quest “Look under every stone” so as not to run into certain unpleasant moments (which we will also tell you about).

So, in order to start the quest, the character, as mentioned above, must be a member of the Thieves Guild. There are no restrictions on when exactly you will step into it. To avoid unnecessary problems in the game, we recommend joining the thieves as early as possible. There are several reasons for this. First - second - in some places you will need a high level of theft to get the desired trophy.

One harmless glitch may occur during the game. Gems will not be placed in the same slot after being picked up. This will bring you nothing but inconvenience. This happens after you talk to Vex, provided that you have several stones. Therefore, if you have collected a couple of unusual trophies, you can search for them a little more, and then talk to Vex.

A very important point is that you do not need to talk to the girl from the Thieves Guild if you already have all 24 stones. In this case, a bug will definitely occur, due to which you will not be able to complete the quest.

If the game lags a lot, then if you manage to press the pick up key several times, then only one Barenziah stone will be added to your inventory, and several will go into the quest. It will be easier to complete the task given by the Thieves Guild.

If used in relation to the quest, you may run into the fact that after collecting all 24 stones, Vex will not be able to give you the continuation of the chain, in which you will need to get Barenziah's crown.

    Troubleshooting

Of course, the game works best when there are no problems with it. But if you come across this or that bug, you are given the opportunity to “play” a little with the Skyrim console. Barenziah's stones can be easily hacked. In order to do this, you need to know some basics of using the console in the game. But if you don’t want to spend a lot of time figuring out what to do and how to do it, how and what works, then just type into a search engine the phrase: “Skyrim. Stones of Barenziah code.” Upon this request, a long console command will open to your attention, which contains the id number of an item called “Barenziah’s Stone” and the function of adding it to the inventory. In this clever way you can complete the quest without leaving the cash register.

But now let's talk a little about solving game bugs. As mentioned earlier, there may be a problem with the impossibility of completing the quest if you have 24 Barenziah stones, and you just decided to talk to Vex. To do this, call the console and write two commands in it:

    • setobjectivecompleted TGCrown 20 1
    • setstage TGCrown 30

If you cannot take the task from the girl to continue the quest (search for the crown of Barenziah, which is usually not available after adding all 24 stones to the inventory “illegally”), then all that remains is to start it manually using the console command: setstage TGCrown 40.

    Where to find stones

As already mentioned, in Skyrim the Barenziah stones are hidden absolutely all over the map. But where to look for them? Now we will tell you where you can find several stones. We won’t open the curtain completely - then the quest will become uninteresting.

    1. Whiterun. In the Hall of the Dead, at the end of the catacombs.

    2. In the jarl's room in Dragonsreach in Whiterun.

    3. In Kodlak's room, in Whiterun.

    4. In Solitude, in the High Spire house.

    5. In the jarl's room in Solitude.

    6. Mistvale Fortress, jarl's room.

    7. In the house of the Shattered Shield clan.

Look for the remaining stones near the Thalmor Kingdom, Riften, Solitude, Whiterun and in caves. Search every corner of the virtual world and you will soon achieve success! At the request "Skyrim stones of Barenziah on the map" we found the following picture. She will definitely help you in your search!

    The final stage

As a matter of fact, when you have all 24 Barenziah stones in your pocket, you can complete the quest. To do this, go to the Thieves Guild, to Vex. Talk to her again. She will give you a continuation - the search for Barenziah's crown (well, of course, there are stones, but not where to insert them). Once the decoration is collected again, it will give you a bonus and decorate the guild building.

One of the most protracted and difficult quests in the open spaces is “Look under every stone.” During the quest, which the player will receive from Vex from the Thieves Guild, he will have to find 24 stones and the very crown of the Queen of Morrowind, Barenziah. An inattentive eye is unlikely to be able to detect all the stones, and finding some stones is possible only during the passage of the quest line. To make it easier to find stones, the location of each of them will be presented below.

    Whiterun and surroundings

Three stones will be located in Whiterun and will not be difficult to find. The first is in the jarl's chambers on the table near the bed, the second can be found in the building of his comrades - Jorrvaskr, it will be in Kodlak Gray Mane's room, also on the table near the bed. The third stone is in the Hall of the Dead; if you go down into the catacombs along the left stairs, the stone will be located on the first left grave.

If you move north from Whiterun, you can stumble upon the Fellglow fortress; one of the stones will be waiting for the player there, but access to it can only be gained during the quest of the College of Mages storyline “Library Books”.

    Solitude and surroundings

There are two stones in Solitude, the first in the room that is farthest from the jarl's throne, oddly enough, also on the table near the bed. The second stone in Solitude is more difficult to obtain; for this you need to purchase a house for the hero; it will lie on the third floor of the estate in the owner’s bedroom.

Another stone is located near Solitude on the ship "Finicky Sload", but it can only be obtained during the Thieves Guild quest, during a task in the city.

One stone can be obtained from the Thalmor Embassy during the quest "Diplomatic Immunity". The stone is found in the chambers of the head of the embassy on the second floor on a table by the bed - the first left room.

Another stone can be found in the Smoking Cave, next to the corpse. The location is located just west of the Thalmor Embassy.

    Markarth and surroundings

Two stones are located in Markarth, the first is in the Dwemer Museum and can be obtained during the quest of the same Thieves Guild - “Difficult Answers”, it is located in the very first room on the table to the left of the entrance. The second stone can be found during the quest "Conspiracy of the Forsworn", it is located in the treasury in the farthest left room, right next to the bed.

One stone is located in the "Old Lady's Rock" location south of Markarth, the stone is located on the altar near the Wall of Words, it will be difficult not to notice it.

    Winterhold and surroundings

One of the stones is located in the chambers of the Archmage of the College of Winterhold; after the hero becomes the head of the College and gains access to this room, he will find the stone in the closet to the left of the bed.

    Windhelm and surroundings

Two stones are located in Windhelm, the first in the house of the Shattered Shield clan on the second floor, in the first left bedroom. The second stone is located in the castle in the chambers of the court magician, the first door is on the left, then you need to move straight to the very end, the stone will be in the side niche, access to the magician's chambers will be opened during the quest "Blood on the Snow".

    Riften and surroundings

One of Barenziah's stones is located in Jarl Riften's chambers on the table next to the bed.

Another of the stones can be found in the Black Heather residence, during the quest “Gave Your Word - Keep It”, you need to climb from the main hall along the left stairs, the stone will lie on the table in the first room.

In the ancient Nordic ruins of Ansilwood, the stone will be located in the room where the player will have to kill Lu.

    Falkreath and surroundings

One stone is in the chambers of the head "" - Astrid, on the table, but to get into the shelter you will need to join the brotherhood.

In the location "Pine Outpost", which can be reached on a special assignment from the Thieves Guild, one of the stones is also found. If you get into the room where the draugr rest, there will be a door, the stone will be behind it right on the shelf.

In the Divided Gorge cave, near the Wall of Words, there is a table with corpses, on which lies one of Barenziah's stones.

    Dawnstar and surroundings

In the Nordic ruins "Ingvild" Barenziah's stone is located in a room that is located not far from the throne room. You can get it during the quest "Arondil's Diary"

Another stone is also located not far from Dawnstar in the Hob’s Cave location; the stone can be found on a shelf that is located in the room with alchemical supplies.

    Morthal and surroundings

Moving south from Morthal, you can stumble upon another place where Barenziah's stone rests - these are the ancient Nordic ruins of Rannveig's Abode. To find the stone you need to go down to the very bottom; the stone will be waiting for the player on the table.

    Final stage

Once all twenty-four stones have been collected, Vex will send the player on a quest to find Barenziah's crown itself. The artifact will be located in the "Tolvald's Cave", returning to Vex and giving her the crown, the quest will be completed and the player will have a valuable artifact at his disposal, which will strengthen the thieving skills of the hero and all members of the Thieves Guild, the hero will also receive an effect called "Thief's Luck ", which will allow you to find more gems while rummaging through chests and pockets. Unfortunately, the crown cannot be equipped without modifications, so it will simply be a beautiful decoration that will rest on a stand in the Thieves Guild hideout.

Unusual stones in TES5 are associated with Barenziah's ceremonial crown, which was stolen from Mournhold by a thief known as Wulfmar Shadowcloak (who is also credited with stealing an Elder Scroll from the White-Gold Tower), and then dismantled into pieces that are now scattered throughout Skyrim. The quest “Look Under Every Stone” appears in the journal after finding the first unusual stone and talking with Hammer at the entrance to Riften. He will advise you to contact Vex from the Wild Flask tavern. After passing the test under the supervision of Brynjolf in the city's market square and joining the thieves guild, the girl will tell a short story and offer to collect a complete collection of 24 fragments (individually, they are worth nothing). Members of the thieves guild repeatedly tried to find them, but to no avail. Many people keep Barenziah's stones - unaware of their past - as trinkets, souvenirs or amulets, so floating red gems in an open golden box can be found during adventures in some unexpected places. Once all the shards have been collected, Vex will offer to return the last missing piece - Barenziah's crown - by going to Tolvald's Cave, located in the mountains north of Riften, to get it.

Crown of Barenziah adds a hidden passive effect called Thieves' Luck, which increases the chance of finding gems in chests and dungeons with draugr. It can be seen after completing the quest “Look Under Every Stone” on the counter next to the trophies in the Cistern, where members of the Thieves Guild live and train.
