The author's style and style deserve special mention and respect. Considering that half of the book is the diary entries of a fifteen-year-old girl, and the other half is an adult narrative, most often from the perspective of Clotilde, the difference in the presentation of events is amazing. With the adult part, everything is clear - the writer is not a boy, but the diary entries are worthy of special praise. You really believe that they could have been written by a teenage rebel girl at war with the whole world. Everything is described very accurately...

All the tones of adolescence, changes in mood, attitude towards parents, brother, friends, etc. are very reliably described.

I really liked the novel, but there is still a minus in the presentation - detailed descriptions of Corsica and everything around it. No, it's beautiful, but when you don't have hundreds of suspects and murders brewing. And it turns out from the series “and he raised a knife over her head... And at that time seagulls were flying over the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea,” etc. That is, I want to desperately squander both the seagulls and the sea in order to find out as quickly as possible - so what is there with the knife? The first half of the book suffers from these descriptions. They are wonderful when there is no thriller, and when there is one, they are distracting and do not evoke that feeling of beauty that the author apparently intended. The first half of the book is somewhat smooth in this regard: a lot of descriptions, memories, showdowns, escalation. But in the second half, such action begins to swirl that you just have time to keep an eye on your hands (who, where, why, to whom) and compare the facts in order to figure out who is to blame.

Finally, the long-awaited new product from the author has been released!!! Style, intrigue - everything is in the spirit of Bussy! I read all the author’s detective stories and all the doubts - they are excellent! An absolutely unique style of storytelling, the intrigue remains until the very end. And it seems like you already know who the villain is, when the picture suddenly changes and a moment comes when, well, now you understand everything again - but that’s not the case!

This book is also powerful and wonderful...

Dynamics, tension, psychological depth and always an unpredictable ending - these are the hallmarks of Michel Bussy's novels.

Each work is like a nesting doll, which always conceals something that will explode at the end and make you love the book you read even more.

This book is also strong because of the wonderful atmosphere of Corsica; reading it is an indescribable pleasure! Well, the technique of parallel storytelling is generally my weakness :)

And a little about the publication. Traditional Phantom soft-touch design, slightly creamy thick offset, medium font. And what a wonderful illustration on the cover!

This is a summer full of magic: sun, sea, dolphins, music, dancing until dawn and, of course, falling in love for the first time. But the fairy tale was destroyed by a fatal accident. The family of young Clotilde and her brother died there. She was the only one left alive.

Detective Michel Bussy is very interesting and realistic. The narrative is told in two time frames - in the present and in the past. Everything is written very competently and interestingly. The characters, emotions and actions of the main characters are very natural. But the reader will not be able to guess the criminal on his own. He does not have complete information, and the path leading to the killer is very winding.
